A Galentine’s Day Dessert Cocktail: The “I Do Cherry-sh You”

February 12, 2018

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Luxardo. All opinions are 100% my own.

Considering that the traditional Valentine’s Day staples include flowers, chocolate, champagne, jewelry, and rom-coms, it’s pretty much a miracle that it took us as long as it did to arrive at the concept of Galentine’s Day. Who better to enjoy these things with than our girlfriends?

Galentine’s Day deserves to become a bigger holiday not only because it allows us to consume nothing but candy and cocktails for two days straight instead of one (which is reason enough IMO), but mainly because it’s a good time to express appreciation and support for your friends. So this year, be the best Galentine you can be and combine your love of boozy dessert with your love for your friends by agreeing to host Galentine’s Day (or Palentine’s Day, where everyone is welcome) at your place! Because let’s face it, nothing says “I love you” like stuffing your friends full of boozy treats. Treats like this indulgent dessert cocktail I whipped up for the holiday called the “I Do Cherry-sh You.”

(Yes, it IS a boy band pun, deal with it). 😉

The “I Do Cherry-sh You” is the perfect drink to serve on Galentine’s Day because it combines all of our favorite Valentine’s day essential flavors in one glass. It’s got heavy cream, white chocolate liqueur, cognac, orgeat liqueur, and Luxardo Cherry Sangue Morlacco (a rich, sweet, and dark Italian liqueur made entirely from Luxardo cherry juice). The end result tastes like chocolate covered cherries with silky whipped cream. Serve it with some roses and a heart-shaped macaron garnish, and watch your Galentines try not to swoon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz heavy whipping cream
  • .75 oz cognac
  • .75 oz Luxardo Cherry Sangue Morlacco
  • .5 oz white chocolate liqueur
  • .25 oz orgeat liqueur
  • Macaron garnish

Instructions:

In a cocktail shaker filled 3/4 full of ice, add heavy whipping cream, Luxardo Cherry Sangue Morlacco, white chocolate liqueur, cognac, and orgeat liqueur. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until all ingredients are well combined. Strain into glass through a fine strainer, add macaron garnish, and serve.

Happy Galentine’s Day!
