First, Make the Cranberry Ginger Syrup
Before you mix up the cocktail, prepare the cranberry ginger syrup. It’s easy, and you can store it in the fridge and add it to cranberry ginger French 75s, margaritas, or even ice cream. You’ll need a saucepan, a fine mesh strainer, and a wooden spoon.
Cranberry Ginger Syrup Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup cranberry
- 1/2 cup ginger
Instructions:
Bring the water to a simmer, then stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Add the cranberries and simmer for 10 minutes. Next, add the ginger and simmer for 5 more minutes. Allow it to cool, and strain to remove the solids.
To Build the cocktail:
Start by assembling your tools: a cocktail shaker, a cocktail measuring cup, a citrus squeezer, a hawthorne strainer, and a coupe or nick & nora glass. Then gather you ingredients, listed below:
In A Ginger Snap Mocktail Ingredients:
- 2 ounces non-alcoholic distilled spirit (I used Seedlip Grove)
- 1 ounce cranberry ginger syrup (see above)
- 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice
- 1 egg white (substitute aquafaba for a vegan version)
- Cubed ice, for shaking
- Rosemary sprig, for garnish
Instructions:
Add the non-alcoholic distilled spirit, cranberry ginger syrup, and fresh lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Finally, add your egg white. Dry shake (shake without ice) for approximately 15-30 seconds. Now add some ice, and shake again for 30 seconds. Strain into your glass, garnish, and enjoy.
